Carel Pedre has done pretty much everything for the Haitian community: the talk show host became the voice of Haiti during the 2010 earthquake by using the tools of new age technology like Twitter, Facebook and Skype to exhibit the plight of the country to the world only a few hours after the quake hit.
Carel is also the voice behind the #1 radio show in Haiti, Chokarella and a judge at Haiti’s only reality television singing competition “Digicel Stars.” But the radio utility player will soon be getting his chance to host a talk show of his own.
The objective of my show is to give the youth, which is the majority of my audience, a reference point; a show showcasing the positive things the country has
to offer every morning. The feedback I have received for my radio show shows me that I have been, for the most part, successful at accomplishing this goal, even
though I feel there is much more I could do. One of those things being Chokarella on TV.”, he said.
Chokarella TV’s primary objective is to offer artists in Haiti and in the diaspora a platform to promote their talent, so that a wider audience can appreciate their crafts.
