If you are a big Haitian music fan like me, I’m pretty sure you know about SoundCloud – the world’s leading social sound platform. Well, the company has announced that it is rolling out a new feature called Suggested Tracks to all of its supported platforms.
The Suggested Tracks feature uses your listening activity to automatically find new tracks and artists – ones that you’ve likely never heard before, but are similar to the things you already know and love.
The company says “suggested Tracks makes use of our state-of-the-art machine learning algorithm to deliver fresh new music and audio suggestions based on your likes and plays on SoundCloud – refreshing frequently with tracks you won’t find anywhere else. The more you use SoundCloud, the more the algorithm learns and perfects itself, day after day.”
For instance, I’ve listened to dISIP’s new single “Heartbreak & Misery” couple of times, so SoundCloud suggested tracks based on that track – see screenshot below.
To access the new feature, you’ll head to SoundCloud’s Discover tab on the web or the Search section in the SoundCloud app. If you’ve already been listening to music on SoundCloud, you’ll have suggestions waiting.
Suggested Tracks is live now on iOS, Android and web. SoundCloud says it will introduce other music discovery features in the weeks ahead – a hint that it might come out with personalized playlists of its own.
SoundCloud is the world’s leading social sound platform where anyone can create sounds and share them everywhere.
Recording and uploading sounds to SoundCloud lets people easily share them privately with their friends or publicly to blogs, sites and social networks.
