Haitian-Japanese trailblazer Naomi Osaka will face 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams in the 2018 US Open final on Saturday, September 8, 2018, after defeating Madison Keys 6-2, 6-4 in New York.

When asked how she felt during the match, Osaka said: “This is going to sound really bad… but I was just thinking – I really wanted to play Serena. Because she’s Serena.”

Osaka was just one year old when Williams won her first Grand Slam in 1999.
