Melissa St. Vil, who is also Known as “Little Miss Tyson”, handed Mayra Hernandez her first defeat on Saturday, September 29th at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, winning a unanimous decision.
“I had a lot of up & downs in my boxing journey people telling me no no no you will never you can’t (I SAID WATCH ME ) i never quite thank you to my team @teamvazquez_ @bionic_bull215”, St. Vil posted on her personal Instagram account the day after the fight.
At 35, Melissa St Vil (10-3-4), is Haiti’s first female boxing champion—along with being one of a rarified group of Brooklyn’s professional female boxing sorority, a group that includes Alicia Ashley, Heather Hardy, Ronica Jeffrey, and Alicia Napoleon.
St. Vil, who lost a close majority decision against Eva Wahlstrom for the WBC Super Featherweight World Title back in April, looked excellent in picking up the decision against Hernandez.
Congratulations to our champ!
