“Addiction”, Starring Vicky Jeudy, Receives Nomination for Nollywood & African Film Critics’ Awards

It’s official: “Addiction,” starring Orange is the New Black actress Vicky Jeudy and Perri Pierre, is among the nominees of Nollywood & African Film Critics’ Awards.

“Addiction”, Perri Pierre’s production, has been nominated for a Nollywood & African Film Critics’ Award. The Nollywood and African Film Critics Awards is an annual award that rewards film practitioners in or from the African continent. It has been held in the United States since its maiden edition on September 17, 2011. Its fifth edition will be held on September 12th, 2015 at the Ace Theatre in Los Angeles, California, and “Addiction” is nominated in the Short Film Category.

Petition to Stop Haitian Deportation from Dominican Republic Falls Short

A petition to President Barack Obama to pressure the government of the Dominican Republic to stop the mass deportation of Haitian Dominicans in the Dominican Republic has not been able to gather enough signatures to warrant an official response from the White House.

The petition needed to gather 100,000 signatures within 30 days to warrant a response from the White House, however, it fell well short of the required mark by approximately 44,000 signatures.
