About Merline Labissiere
Merline Labissiere was born and raised in Miami FL. Her mother arrived to America from Haiti in the late seventies hoping to give the next generation a new future. Her past has given her the gift of striving for greatness. Her journey began at the tender age of twelve where she learned to crochet. At an early age her passion helped to create something from nothing. It opened her eyes to world of art and gave her the confidence to approach other media.
She is an artistically gifted designer of fashion, set, costume, and wedding décor. As a designer, she has decorated many homes, weddings, receptions and banquets. Most notably she is the creative stylist behind Labissiere, Underscore, and The Maroons clothing lines. During and after her educational foundation in architecture at Miami Dade College, she had been obtaining hands-on experience with various South Florida entities.
Her love for fashion and architecture lead to her Savannah College of Art and Design. There she received a Bachelor of Fine art in Fashion Design and a background in architecture. Both of these principles allowed her to create futurist and nontraditional fashion. Combining nontraditional materials with traditional techniques are what drive her passion. She is an artistically gifted designer who loves to combine fashion with varies materials. She has an
imagination that will captivate the world with a single breath.
